Child Custody & Parenting Plans
When children are involved, mediation truly shines
We know the scariest part of divorce isn’t usually the money — it’s how it will affect your children. Mediation is the only divorce process that keeps your kids at the centre of every decision, not the lawyers or a judge.
Most families with children finish both the parenting plan and the full financial settlement (house, support, retirement, debts) in just 2–4 private sessions — often in 4–8 weeks.
What you’ll create together — a complete child-centred agreement:
Parenting Plan & Time-Sharing
Weekday/overnight schedules that match school, activities, and work
Holiday & summer vacation rotations (we make them fair and predictable years in advance)
Flexible “right of first refusal” clauses when a parent is unavailable
Long-distance or relocation plans if needed
Decision-Making Authority
Joint or sole authority for major decisions (education, non-emergency medical, religion, extracurriculars)
Day-to-day decisions (bedtime, screen time, diet) stay with the parent who has the child at that moment
Child Support & Expenses
Guideline child support (or justified deviations)
Who pays for extracurriculars, private school, college, braces, therapy, etc.
Everything else (same as before)
House, retirement accounts, debts, alimony — all settled in the same mediation process
